How is crypto profit calculated?
Your position size is your investment × leverage. Profit = position × the percentage price move in your favour, minus trading fees on both entry and exit. For a long, you profit when the exit price is higher than entry; for a short, when it's lower. ROI here is measured against your margin (the money you put up).
What does leverage do to my profit and loss?
Leverage multiplies both. At 5× leverage, a 4% price move produces roughly a 20% gain or loss on your margin. Higher leverage means a smaller adverse move can wipe out your position — which is why sizing and stops matter far more than the leverage number itself.
Does this include trading fees?
Yes. It applies your fee percentage to the position notional on both entry and exit (two sides). Real exchange fees vary by tier and maker/taker status, so treat the fee figure as a close estimate.
What about liquidation?
This calculator focuses on profit and loss at a chosen exit price. To see the price where a leveraged position gets liquidated, use our liquidation calculator, and size the trade with the position size calculator.
Educational tool only. Results use standard formulas and the fee percentage you enter; actual exchange fees, funding and slippage will vary. Not financial advice. Leveraged trading carries a high risk of losing your capital.
